Today we are sharing a super on-trend hairpiece for your wedding day, inspired by the Pantone color of the year — greenery! This piece is perfect for a boho-inspired wedding, especially for the bride that wants a more “outdoorsy look”. Thanks so much to Vienna of Sparrow Photography for sending this lovely DIY to us… Now let’s see how the team did it!
From Vienna, “Every bride loves to add her own unique touch to her wedding day. One way to achieve this is by creating a hairpiece that will be forever memorable. For the girl who loves DIY elements and greenery, here is a stunning way to create your own wedding day comb.”
What You’ll Need:
• 8 inch length of 20 gauge floral wire
• Floral tape
• Wire hair comb
• 26 gauge spool of floral wire
• Greenery of your choice. We picked: 2 stems leather leaf fern, 3 clusters of ivy berries, 1 stem green eryngium (thistle), 1 stem white phlox
• Floral clippers
Step 1: Prepare your foliage. Cut down each stem into 2 inch pieces. Fold in the sharp ends of your 8 inch piece of wire then wrap the entire length with floral tape.
Step 2: Create a small bundle using a few pieces of leather leaf, a thistle bloom and a piece of phlox. Holding it firmly at the base, lay it on top of the end of your taped wire and wrap the base securely to the wire using your paddle wire.
Step 3: Continue working your way down the length of your wire, attaching bundles of foliage and blooms, covering where each bundle is secured with wire.
Step 4: Once at the end of your wire, attach your last bundle in the opposite direction to cover the exposed stems and wire. Thread your paddle wire in amongst the foliage to hide it. Cut and secure the end of your paddle wire.
Step 5: Using a new length of paddle wire, attach the foliage piece to the wire comb by threading the wire in amongst the foliage to keep it hidden. Secure tightly. Enjoy!

Super pretty right? So great for any season of wedding and we love the texture it adds to your look!
