Zoige Wetland is China’s biggest peat swamp area, it is the international wetlands praised “the world’s largest, the most primitive, the best plateau wetland hadn’t been destroyed by people” by experts. Zoige wetland on the administrative jurisdiction Zoige county, Hongyuan county of Sichuan province and Luqu county, Maqu county and other places in Gansu province.
Bayanbulak Wetland located in the northwest of Hejing, south of Tianshan Mountain, formed by two high mountains basin of the big Zhuletusi and small Zhuletusi and mountain hilly pasture. The Yellow River Delta Wetland is the one of the few estuary wetland ecosystems in the world, located in the northeastern coast of the Bohai Sea in Shandong province. The Yellow River Delta wetland has rich type, various types of landscape, and generally can be divided into two categories of natural wetland and artificial wetland. Summer, is the Yellow River flourishing water period, the Yellow River estuary in Dongying city of Shandong province presents a magnificent spectacle. Zhalong Wetland is located in the west of Songnen plain in Heilongjiang province Wuyuer River downstream, there is no obvious river, and connects to reed pond, and then flow into the Longhu Bubble, Lianhuan Lake, Nanshan Lake, finally disappear from Dumeng grassland. Zhalong Nature Reserve is China’s famous precious waterfowl protective area, located 30 km southeast of the city, with a total area of two hundred and ten thousand hectares. Due to low-lying terrain, river overflow to irrigate water reed, lake dotted with bubble, here is a natural paradise suitable for waterfowl birds breeding.
Located in the Bohai bay, Liaohe Delta Wetland is one of the largest reed coastal wetland area in China, is also the world’s second largest reed origin. Wetland has bio-productivity, purifying water, regulating climate, preventing saltwater intrusion into land and other functions, and biological resources is extremely rich, where is the good breeding places for red-crowned cranes and larus saundersi rare waterfowl. Liaohe Delta area of nearly 600000 hectares, spans the Panjin and Yingkou city of Liaoning province, established the Shuangtai river nature reserve. Erguna Wetland lies at the northwest side of the Greater Khingan Mountains and the eastern bank of Erguna River in Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province. It covers an area of about 126,000 hectares. This wetland is the best preserved, largest with the most species-rich natural resources wetland area in Hulun Buir City, as well as in the country. And it is known as the No.1 wetland in Asia.
Erguna Wetland contains a wide range of alluvial plains, which forms a delta located in Root River, Argun, DEERBUGAN River and Ha Wuer River Interchange. It is not only able to enjoy birch, ornamental shrubs forest, but also enjoy all the outside in addition to the original forest scenic beauty.
How to get there: You may take a bus from Hailaer to Labulin Town in Erguna. The bus departs every 40 minutes from 7:30am to 5:30pm in a day and takes about 2 hours for one-way journey. Upon your arrival in Labulin Town, you need to take a taxi to the Erguna Wetland Scenic Area, about 3km, not very far.
Xixi Wetland Park is located in western part of Hangzhou, East China’s Zhejiang Province. It is only 6 km away from Hangzhou downtown, and 5km away from West Lake. The wetland is well-known in Hangzhou together with West Lake and Xiling, and listed as a national 5A tourist site. The park has an eight kilometer ring road along the water, which takes three hours to walk round. Covering a total of 1,150 hectares (2,800 acres), the park is densely crisscrossed with six main watercourses, among which scatter various ponds, lakes and swamps. Slowly playing the waters and gazing at gorgeous views while enjoying lunch or an early dinner aboard a boat is a quintessential Xixi National Wetland Park activity.
How to get there: the transport to the park is quite convenient, for it is not far from downtown Hangzhou. There is no express line from the railway station to the park, so the best way to the park is by taxi. The ride by cab takes around 45 minutes and costs about RMB60.
Mangrove Nature Reserve is located in the bank of Shenzhen Bay, Futian District, Shenzhen, Guangdong province in the south of China. Established in 1984, the reserve is close to Ramsar Site of International Importance, Hong Kong Mai Po nature reserve. It is regarded as the smallest national level nature reserve in China, and is the only nature reserve in an urban center in all of China. Renting a bike or dingo some bird watching or just spend time on the boardwalk admiring the vistas of the city is the best way to enjoy a leisure day here.
How to get there: One can take J1, 76, 80, K113, 229 or 231 to get to the nature reserve.
Xinghu Wetland Park is sited 4 km away from Zhaoqing, Guangdong province in south of China. The park is the nation’s first nature reserve and one of the world’s natural life preservation areas. There are 45 red-crown cranes in the park, making it the biggest home to the species in southern China. It is a part of the migration route for many water birds. It is also home to around 100,000 birds of nearly 200 species. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery, animals, islands and reed groves from bird-watching pavilions or boat restaurants.
How to get there: Buses depart for Zhaoqing City at most of cities’ bus stations. Upon arrival in Zhaoqing, you may take a taxi to get there.
